This is a great, manuverable, lighweight baby gate. It is extra long for those longer than normal enterances. Affordable as well. I really like how easy it is to move back and forth, use it or leave it open….it’s great!

This would be a fine product if you have an opening with wood on both sides, but do not use if its just drywall. Within 2 days the supporting hardware pulled out of the wall and left the gate unsafe and useless.

Honestly though this could be a very nice product in the right situation.

This is the one and only gate i could find that fit my 24 inch wide doorway. it also works well in another room in my house that has a 48 inch opening. Keeps my crawling 10 month old girl out of harms way!

You can’t beat the price compared to other gates. I use it to block of a 60" opening and it’s wide enough to block even a couple more inches. You do have to drill 4 holes in your wall but the gate is sturdy and if you pay attention to your child when you are opening and closing it it’s perfectly safe. good stuff.

I purchased this gate for a the opening into my kitchen. It is an odd caddy corner shaped opening. The gate was easy to install and works great. We purchased it to keep my 8 month old son from crawling into the kitchen to eat the dog’s food! He is almost 2 now and we still use it to keep him out of the kitchen. He has never pinched a finger or any other part of his body. My 5 year old is able to open and shut it with ease. It is very durable and his withstood my son shaking it back an forth. I guess you could say it is kid tested and mother approved.

I purchased this gate because we adopted a new dog and as he’s a mix of Rottweiler and Doberman, he’s very tall. This gate has allowed him to see our 4 cats, but has kept them safe. This is a very good quality product and I would recommend it to everyone.

I am very pleased with this gate and for the price I paid through Amazon. It is tall enough to keep most of my dogs from jumping over. If you have a high jumper, they will probably be able to clear the jump though. Three of my dogs can still jump over it if they wanted to. The pressure mount is so easy to use. I also like the clear plastic. It keeps pets from "nosing" each other, but allows tham to still see each other. The only problem I encountered was when I first opened the gate to desired length-it was stuck pretty good and I had to really apply pressure to loosen it.

We needed a gate that the dogs couldn’t get in, chinchilla couldn’t get out or climb up. This gate is perfect! Works like standard gate, more attractive and nice and high. Recommend highly. I couldn’t find it in any stores.

I recently brought a new puppy into my ferret househould, and this gate works perfectly! This gate is easy to operate (once you figure it out initially). I had purchased this gate some time ago and really liked it so I purchased a second one for another entry way. I like that it is a little taller than most gates and that if you move it around, it’s easy to re-adjust it.

This is a great gate and simple to use. The one thing that could improve it are a bit more detailed instructions for first time use. I had to compare the picture to the wording printed on the product itself to determine correct placement. Once in place though it is very secure.

This gate is superbly made and has a feel of great quality. I agree with one of the other reviewers that you need to figure out how to configure the extensions for your opening, but the company’s website and customer service will help you. My application was between two walls, both of which had oversize 3/4 inch baseboards. Therefore, the distance to be spanned at the top of the gate was a full 1 1/2 inches more than at the bottom. This gate is made to handle that variation easily and securely. As our new puppy’s visitors come in, they always comment on the great quality of the gate. The gate will gently close automatically provided you install it in a level manner. With our previous gate, we had to insert a book on each side to compensate for the baseboards. Also, since the bars are vertical, puppies cannot climb over the gate.

This is the best gate yet. We have it at the top of our stairs and we purchased it because it is pressure mounted and easy to install. We have a 2 1/2 year old who he has figured out how to open other gates and other child-proofing items we have around our home. This gate is more challenging to open for a toddler, which is good. It is a strong, heavy and sturdy gate. The best. We will be purchasing another because it is the only gate our toddler cannot open.

We got this gate for our front door which leads to a couple of steps. Now that our daughter is crawling/cruising and almost walking and with summer temperatures rising we wanted to be able to let her explore the house safely and be able to keep the door open.
The gate is easy to install and fits very tightly in our door frame (so much so that we didn’t have to screw in the cups to make it a permanent gate. The standard gate extension that is included with the gate will make it work for pretty much any door frame so you only need to order an additional extension if your door or opening is extra wide.
The bars are close enough your baby can’t go through but still leaves you with a view.
We love the auto-close features, very handy when coming in/out with both your arms full.
The downsides:
1) you have to watch your step when using it so as to not trip over the floor bar
2) you’ll have to show everyone how to use it, the opening mechanism is easy to operate once you know how it works and kids will never figure it out, but it will take an adult some time too if you dont show them.

I would recommend this gate, well worth the price.

This may have been a good product, but the boxes arrived damaged and the gates broken. (I bought two) Absolutely not the carriers fault. Amazon did such bad packing, there was no way it could have survived the trip. And since the delivery box was damaged, I would have to pay the local pack and ship to return the damaged gate and then wait for replacement.

With a new puppy in dire need of gating, I went to the local PetSmart and bought this product off the shelf from them. Should have done that in the first place and saved myself the hassle. The Amazon extension is headed to the trash.

As a side note, I also bought the gate extensions, and those arrived not damaged, but destroyed. An even worse packing job by amazon.

Installation and adjustments took a little while, but it’s a good gate and very secure (we used the screws to attach it to the wall and banister since we’re using it at the top of the stairs). I like that it swings closed by itself (helpful when you have your hands full with laundry and/or a baby!), but the CLICK it makes when closing is very loud. Since the gate is right next to my daughter’s door, we try not to let it swing shut by itself when she’s sleeping - we ease it closed - but even then the click is very apparent. Oh well, it hasn’t woken her up yet! All I know is that she won’t be able to open it by herself anytime soon, which is the whole point, right?

This gate is the best for the price, and frankly, I never found a larger gate that made sense for the large opening I have.

It takes some practice to open it with one hand. If it’s a bit stiff at first, examine it and loosen it a bit at the catch. I bent mine a little with a screwdriver to make it not so stiff to operate with one hand. Over time, the second gate we got became much looser and therefore easier to open and close with one hand.

We have had three of these gates for about 3 years now. We kept three kids and three dogs in their respective places with these gates! One was at the bottom of the stairs to keep the kids from crawling up the stairs when we weren’t looking.

I recommend this gate if you are willing to work a little harder to learn how to use it than another, more expensive gate. I gave it four stars because I feel that when new, these can be especially difficult to unlatch with one hand. Out of the three gates, only one was a real pain at first until it had been used for about 2 months. The up side is that the kids could not figure out how to open this on their own. The holes were too small for them to climb it. And even older kids can’t operate it….which could be a down side if you have a 6 year old who can’t operate it. Our son, even at age 7, could not open this by himself. I would say it is hard to use, but only at first. Once you get the hang of it, it’s quite OK to use quickly and without thinking about it…

Since the reviews on this gate had a wide range, I bought it with some caution. I am pleased to report that the gate is in fact easy to install, easy to open and close, doesn’t get stuck, and is very easy to latch closed. Unless you have an older child, you don’t even need to use the locking pin (which is a good thing because the locking pin is strictly for adults and is not easy to manipulate). It is best to install this kind of gate in an opening trimmed out at least 6" in depth. This is because the right side of the gate where it attaches to the wall of the opening will be offset about 6" from the left side of the gate where it attaches to the wall of the opening.

I purchased this gate to keep my new puppy in the kitchen. I have a large opening between my kitchen and living room and this gate fit wonderfully. It was very easy to install and there was no assembling required. I would recommend this item to anyone with pets or small children. I also have a two year old and it works on him also. The ease of opening and closing is wonderful. This item was priced very reasonable.

I had my husband put this up- we needed to add our own 1 x 4 wood to screw in the gate to the wall- their screws are lame so we used our own wood screws too-
only to find this gate is way too hard to open/close. We took it down and returned it. This was for a kitchen entrance where there is high traffic, and each time we go through this gate, we had to be very patient, for it is wobbly and you need to latch it shut - have it aligned just right and it is soooo frustrating! The sliding door sticks and gets stuck every time so you need to push and pull to get it to slide open or shut.
Once you can get it to slide open, it swings out which is great, but don’t waste your time and money!

Not a bad gate and ceratinly one of very, very few that accomodate large openings. It’s plastic, so it is a bit flimsy though. Sliding open and closed is not difficult and it locks easily enough. I bought this gate for a dog gate, and my beagle figured out he could use the little openings in the panels to get a foot hold and climb over. Took him about five minutes to figure that out. Then I installed some plexiglass on the inside of the gate so he couldnt get traction, but again, he was able to jump up high enough to get his elbows on it and shift his weight right over the top. This gate needs to be aboout a foot taller for sure. If you have a dog that doesnt jump or climb, install this gate he’ll learn real quick…

This gate fit the space between my kitchen counter and the wall terrific so it was ideal for what I needed. There is no way my 16 lb. shih tzu mix could get over it. So everyday for a week I put my dog up and left her in the kitchen and laundry room area with her toys. Then she decided she didn’t like being put up anymore. She knocked the wire mesh out of the bottom corner over the course of the day and escaped. From then on, I gave up trying to put her up because she broke it. The good news is she doesn’t mess up in my house now. As far as the product goes, it is only going to keep your dog in if they aren’t determined to get out.

well I bought these for a polmerain and a chichuahua mix. They are very strong. Good colors and the widths are perfect. It is somewhat difficult to set up. It is a notch lock and unless you and hold it tight and sercurely by yourself and lock it with the other hand(can be done…takes time)do not buy it. Perfect if you have another person to hold it while you lock it.
